College Confessional: Stressed? Get your hand down your pants.
A few months ago, two of our interns debated casual sex on campus--Erika gave it high marks for helping her sleep and relax without being a time suck, while Maddie said that calm, no-mind-games relationship sex was the key to her high GPA. Today our intern Kate Gallagher, a senior at Colorado State University, discusses a topic all three of them can probably agree on: an orgasm, however you get it, is an excellent way to de-stress in college.
Stress is ever-present when you are in college--and it's not just the weekly tests (at least, it seems like they're weekly!). I stress about my grades, I stress that I'm not active enough to ward off that freshman 15, I even stress that I'm not social enough. I used to distract myself by stalking random friends on Facebook and MySpace--but that never really reduced my stress, it just postponed it.

So this is what I do these days to refocus and de-stress: I have sex. (Even my health professor told me that sex can relieve stress, so it must be true!) And if no one's around do that with, no problem: I just get out my favorite toy and have some fun. In fact, sometimes that's better than partner sex, because there's no wasting time with foreplay and no worrying about diseases or pregnancy. Plus, at least then your stress-relieving orgasm is guaranteed! Afterwards I'm all set to get studying, as my head is cleared of all the other nonsense that runs through it all day. I also recommend using this tactic right before a test. Typically I am really anxious an hour before the test, and last-minute cramming just stresses me out more (besides being pointless). Some guys masturbate an hour before a date to keep their head in the game--I masturbate an hour before a test to clear my head and my tensions! Since I started this regime, I've found that I perform better academically when I've just rubbed one out--especially during finals week. Not exactly hard scientific evidence, I know--but what do you expect from a Creative Writing major?
