Safety is always a concern of smart Playmates. We don't like to date fans because it's dangerous and weird but sometimes it does happen. There is a fine line between a guy who sees you as his dream girl and a fan. A line so fine, it might even be made of sand - which makes things tricky, because that means that line moves a little. As Playmates, we have all seen other Playmates with bad experiences from dating the wrong guy. But it's important to remember that life is full of surprises, good and bad, and you don't want to limit the good surprises by being ultra paranoid about the bad ones.

So you have to be a smart bunny. Here are some tips to keep yourself safe on a date, with the rule of thumb being to date everyone twice if there is an actual chance of something more. The better you get to know someone, the more you can relax.

1) Set up a dummy email.

Have an email that has a nickname or maybe only your first name, if your first name is common (unlike Serria.) If I were setting a dummy email, it might be LovelyRia or something like that. Sometimes single people can have alot of time on their hands and that means they will google your name and find out everything about you. Let's make sure they don't do that before you want them too. And don't create ridiculous emails either. Names like Asianlover and 69king might be hilarious to you for a second, but they won't get you anywhere.

2) Don't give the date your full name.

Your name is your identity. I have seen many girls hire private detectives after only a few dates, before even considering marriage. I am not against this, but in the begining your only job is to have a good time on the date, not to meet a spouse, soulmate, or anything ultra serious, even if it's your end result. Just have fun and if the guy wants to have your full name for his phone, give him your middle name. Good luck finding that on Facebook!

3) Meet your date out!

Don't pick him or her up. Guys, this is as important for you as it is for the lady. Make sure you really trust someone before you let them into your life - or even your car. Always have your own wheels so that you can have an easy getaway . If you want to make out, make out in a car or the corner of a bar. Avoid going home until you are ready to have sex. And obviously avoid having sex with someone until you trust them.

4) Once you have been on a few dates, ask to see their drivers license.

Make a note of their name so you can check him/her out online.

5) Listen!

This can be the hardest part for many of us. If you listen well you can identify when someone is "off". But you can't listen if you are the only one talking. Encourage communication by keeping things present, asking "how do you like this bar?" "What's your favorite thing to do in the city?" "Do you have pets?" Don't listen for answers, listen for tones, and be careful to detect any negativity or hostility. These traits can not be hidden even for 5 minutes. Someone's tone will communicate if they are a victim or if they are harboring passive aggressiveness, too

Playmates are sometimes secretive about the guys they date because the Playmate community is very incestuous, and you can easily date someone that a friend has dated. But sometimes being secretive is a luxury we can't afford. If you're in the same boat, send information about your date to a close friend.

The Bunny Tail (The bottom line, what you should do next):

Withholding informaiton is not lying and it's not playing games. It's being safe. Set up a date and practice 1-5. Don't ask your date anything that you don't want to share yourself.
