Go Out on a Limb for Date Night (or Day!)

Hitting up your go-to Thai restaurant again and catching a flick afterward? Woo-hoo. Not. "Shake it up by doing something physical on your date!" says "flirt expert" Rachel DeAlto. "Get your blood rushing by playing a one-on-one sport like tennis, volleyball or rock climbing." Make the most of that endorphin rush when you get back home and engage in another contact sport -- in the bedroom. (You might want to shower first.)

Score brownie points with your spouse

Spice Up A Dinner Date Night
Spending the night in with a romantic meal? Great! But please, don't just whip up one of your go-to dishes, turn on the TV and call it a date. "Date night dinners are less about the meal than the delivery," says DeAlto. Your partner's favorite meal might be peanut scrambled eggs, but if it's served by candlelight with your undivided attention (and in an outfit that makes you feel sexy), it will be better than dinner at any Zagat-rated restaurant." There's nothing wrong with cooking in some lingerie, ladies. Nothing wrong at all.

Fun meals for movie night!

Stop Being Too Tired for Date Night
Nothing is less romantic than trying to push through your exhaustion to have fun," says DeAlto. She suggests taking the show on the road. If you're overworked, overstressed and overextended -- but don't have the funds to hop a flight to Maui -- embark on a staycation weekend instead of forcing a date night. "You can sleep in and spend quality time with your partner. It's a win-win," she adds.

Have a Heart-to-Heart Date Night
Nothing kills the date night romance like talking about chores and work. Save the bitching for another time. Instead, "Take the time to get to know each other -- again -- on date nights," says DeAlto. "Ask each other questions about your childhood, such as, 'What was your favorite memory?' or 'Who was your favorite teacher?' No matter how long you've been together, there's always something new to discover."

Sex-ify Your Date Night
"Date night was fun, honey. I'm gonna hit the hay." Suond familiar. You've got to keep that momentum going once you get home from date night. But how? By sexting, suggests DeAlto. Yes, while on the date. "Nothing spices things up like a few naughty messages -- especially if it's out of character," she explains. "Tell him what you want to do with him when he gets home (or what you want him to do to you). Be as explicit as you're comfortable with. The point is to take him by surprise and get his imagination going!"
