Do you drink more when you're in a relationship?

I ride my bike every day, I sleep seven hours every night and I don't eat many desserts. But my unhealthy habit is definitely drinking wine. I didn't used to drink very much, but now I'll have a glass (or really, two) every night. (Every night!)

Why am I such a boozer? Well, I blame the boyfriend...

When Alex and I first started dating, we would hang out (and drink wine) two or three times a week. But, on the other nights, I would stay home with my roommate or see some friends, and I wouldn't drink anything.

But then Alex moved in with me. Now, we hang out pretty much every night, and we usually have a beer or glass of wine when he gets home and we have dinner.

But is that terrible? Alex says it's French--and we remember our parents always having a beer or glass of wine after work--but it can't be good for you (or your liver), right? I think I'll start toning it down, although I have to say, I love me a cold glass of white wine at the end of a long day. (And one reader's simple pleasure was "The sound of a beer can opening!")

So I'm curious: Do you drink more when you're single or in a relationship? How much do you drink? Do you ever worry about how much you drink? Also, have you ever gotten embarrassingly tipsy on a date? I'd love to hear your wine-addled thoughts...or am I the only lush out here?
