Flawless Part 1

It was getting late and Samantha was so ready for bed. Planning the next day, she sat out on the back stoop of her home brain storming. The night was clear and she could see every star in the sky. The shower she just had made it easy to relax from a long day of cleaning behind her visiting guest and their children. It was not often that she had the chance to enjoy such a clear night. Often times her thoughts seems to not be as clear as this night sky. She lit her cigarette and decided to just enjoy the menthol flavor verses the toxins that seem to calm her all too often. This smoke was different. She did not need the smoke to calm her nerves from adults that seems to find it very hard to clean behind themselves or even the chaos of a house full of three extra children besides her own. Oh this was very different. This was all about pleasure. Her thoughts began to wonder from tomorrow's plans and today's hardships. Soon all she could hear was the new song that got more radio play a lot more often than any other song that she had heard this day. "Tonight's gonna be a good night..." She wondered why it echoed so much. This chorus to the song felt as if it was really telling her something. Tonight seems to feel so good. The guests are gone and there is this moment of peace that she so rarely gets. "Yes," she thought taking another drag of her cigarette, "tonight's gonna be a goodnight. I'm a ssumming that I will sleep like a baby". As far as she was concerned it did not get any better than this. As a single parent trying to help everybody who needed it (even a cousin with a husband and kids who are down on their luck), this night could not get any better.

Soon the phone rang and broke her concentration. Normally she would dred a phone call that took her away from her unfinished tasks, but tonight was a good night. Now her concern was who could be calling her this late at night. She answered the phone.

"Hello"
"Hey" the female voice on the other end said.
Not able to recognize the voice, but knew that obviously this person knew her she responds with a simple "Hey," right back.
"You wanna go out tonight?" Samantha recognized the voice. It was her cousin, her guest. Her cousin had just moved back in town with her family and they had been staying with her for the month. Little did they know just haow much she was tired of cleaning behind them and frustrated for it. She valued her relationship with her cousin and knew that her cousin did not do well with criticizm. So Smantha often suffered siglently for her choice to take her family in even when no other family members would. To go out tonight would be just what the doctor ordreded.

Since they had not hung out like this since they were teenagers this would certainly be exciting. Besides this would make up for the hard work that went into caring for their family. So Smantha excitedly accepted the ofer with "Girl, you ain't saying nuthin' but a word!"

The two made arrangements to leave once the family made it back home and hung up. The night just got better. Oh yeah, this was going to be a good night. Little did Smantha know there was something extra special witing for her. Something that would change the direction of her life forever. Something so small yet so big. Tonight was not just a good night. Tonight was going to be a great night.
