How old were you when you had your first kiss? (I was old.)

Today's reader's dilemma got me thinking about how everyone starts kissing and dating at different ages. So, I'm curious, how old were you when you had your first kiss? My answer after the jump....

I fake-kissed a guy when I was 13. (We were best friends and we were in his bedroom. I was sitting on the bed and he was bouncing up and down and then he leaned down and kissed my cheek. I went right home and wrote about it in my diary, with exclamation points across five pages!)

Btw, what's with girls kissing in bars?

But I didn't have a real kiss until the summer before my senior year in high school. I went to visit my grandparents in England. They lived in a small fishing village, and my grandfather jokingly called the local boys "yobs" (which is boy spelled backwards and basically means troublemakers). Nevertheless, I had my eye on a blond guy. I tried to talk to him when I saw him on the street or in the shops, and finally, I worked up the nerve to ask him to come over for dinner one night. (My grandfather was making Shepard's Pie!) To my complete shock, he agreed. That night, after dinner, we walked down the little street, which smelled like salt and fish, and he kissed me. It was totally awkward, but I was completely thrilled.

What about you? How old were you? Who was the lucky guy? Was it romantic or awkward? Did you end up dating the dude? I'd love to hear!
