I’m Not So Sure About This New Bedroom Product

This brief Jezebel story discussed Comfortably Numb, a deep throat spray. In spearmint flavor. Yum. The idea is that this spray will numb your mouth and throat to make giving oral sex more comfortable and reduce your gag reflex.
Products like these always make me giggle. Though, as I've said before, I'm a huge advocate of flavored lube. When I talk to other ladies about ----- s (which is actually quite often, ask my friends!) gagging isn't the biggest complaint. A lot of girls just don't like giving oral sex, or they feel their boyfriends request it too much.

But if gagging is truly a problem for you, buying a product to numb yourself is probably not going to make things better. In fact, it might make things worse. I imagine the numbing agents in this product are similar to medicinal sprays used to soothe sore throats. Which, incidentally, make me gag. If you're annoyed by your gag reflex, try these tips on for size:
*Control your portion size. Decide how much of your guy's penis you can comfortably handle in your mouth. Place your hand on this spot on the shaft so that you won't go deeper than what you're comfortable with. Bonus points if you move your hand up and down a bit-guys dig the ----- / ----- combo.
*Take a breather. If you're getting overwhelmed and find yourself gagging, it's OK to stop for a few moments to catch your breath. While you're taking five, you can keep the action going by giving him a place holder ----- .
*Play one-on-one. Who says all the attention should be focused on him? While you're going down on him, he can certainly return the oral sex favor or pleasure you with his hands.
