It's Complicated: Is My Husband Cheating With My Friend?

Q: I had to go out of town for several days. When I got home, my widowed best friend told me that she and my husband had texted each other while I was gone, because she wanted his advice. But when I checked my husband's phone, he had deleted all her texts! If it was all kosher, why delete the texts? Am I being too sensitive?

A: Probably-your friend did offer up the info. Still, perhaps instead of checking your husband's phone, you should just check with him. If you don't feel you can believe his explanation, then this matter signals deeper trust issues, and that's where the real conversation needs to start.
