Diane Kruger, one of our favorite style stars, may be ready to tie the knot with longtime boyfriend Joshua Jackson! The star of FX's The Bridge was spotted leaving a private dinner party for Antonio Berardi on Tuesday wearing a conspicuous sparkler on her left ring finger, leaving many to speculate that Jackson popped the question.

Neither member of the pair, who have been together since 2006, has commented on the rumors, seemingly letting the statement ring speak for itself.

The ring is from the Bulgari Serpenti collection. A rep for the brand told E! News it is 18-karat pink gold with 2.51-carat diamonds and rubellite. For a woman with such confident, fashion-forward style, it certainly seems like the perfect engagement ring.

We can't help but let a little doubt seep into our excitement about the comely couple's betrothal. As utterly divine Kruger would look as a bride (and as handsome as Dawson's Creek alum Jackson can look in a tux), they've made no secret of their views on marriage in the past.

In 2012, Jackson told E! News that marriage is "important for the people that it's important for, but neither one of us are particularly religious so I don't think that there's any particular push." His statement came on the heels of another bout of engagement fever: That May, he bought Kruger a $45,000 necklace at a charity auction in Monaco was allegedly overheard saying it was an engagement present for his lady love.

Kruger, who was married to French actor Guillaume Canet from 2001 to 2006, shared her own thoughts on getting married with Glamour the year before. "Without being pessimistic, I learned that I don't believe in marriage," she said, reflecting on her first union.

With those sentiments on public record, why would anyone assume her new jewelry is anything more than an accessory? There are a few reasons, all of which stem from their long courtship.

For starters, their relationship has turned into a partnership. Both have discussed how Kruger, a former model, has shaped her Fringe star boyfriend into something of a fashion plate himself. They also publicly support each other for every premiere and event. It sounds trite, but showing up and letting the other shine leads to deep respect.

They also have known each other long enough to laugh at their rocky start. "Our first date was a miserable one," Jackson said last year. "I took her to an Italian restaurant, and there was some flower that was blooming. She was allergic to it so she sniffled and sneezed the entire time. And when I get nervous, you might have noticed I talk a lot. So I just chewed her ear off for an hour and a half. It was amazing. I'm surprised she ever called back." It can take some couples a long time to move past the honeymoon stage and accept each others' differences, and it seems as though these two have gotten there.

Finally, Kruger's unsuccessful first marriage led her to a conclusion many reach after a similar situation: Take it out of the equation and see what happens. This couple's obvious affection-have you seen how he looks at her on the red carpet?-stems from the time they've taken to grow with each other, and it shows. Don't believe us? Listen to Kruger herself.

"I believe in a commitment that you make in your heart," Kruger also said in her Glamour interview. "There's no paper that will make you stay. A guy friend of mine said, and it made a lot of sense, that people should get married at the end of the road, not the beginning."

Seven years is a long-term commitment by any standard, making an engagement now seem more likely than it would have a year ago. Jackson has also expressed some measured optimism about marriage. "Never say never," he said last year in response to an engagement question.

We love their open-minded attitude toward love! Clearly, they've moved closer to the idea of marriage together, which makes us think that this ring might be the real thing! Here's hoping-the Chanel model will probably wear a show-stopping wedding dress.
