Katie Couric is Going to Be a Summer Bride!
by Terri Pous
Katie Couric reported important news this weekend: wedding news! The journalist and talk show host told shock jock Howard Stern that she and fiancé John Molner plan to get married this summer.

During Stern's 60th birthday party on Friday, the radio show host asked Couric when she and Molner will say I do (Couric's reply: "Summer!") and if he'd be invited to the wedding. "No, but to the party," Couric answered. "[The wedding is] going to be family only."
That wasn't the end of Stern's wedding-day ribbing for the happy couple, who were among the many celebrities attending his birthday bash at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom. When Couric introduced Jewel's performance later in the night, Stern jokingly asked, "Do you want me to marry you right now?"

Maybe he really wanted to go to the wedding ceremony? Either way, Molner excitedly said yes to Stern's proposition. It sounds like the famously chipper Couric has found someone equally sunny in Molner, and we couldn't be happier for her.
We'd love to see her infuse her wedding with cheery, summer-y details like sunflower and daisy botanicals and a relaxed, second wedding-worthy dress.
The pair got engaged over Labor Day weekend after dating for nearly two years. Molner, who is head of mergers and acquisitions at Brown Brothers Harriman, popped the question with a diamond engagement ring at sunset on an East Hampton, N.Y. beach over Labor Day Weekend.
A widow since 1998, when her husband, Jay Monahan, died from colon cancer, Couric has raised the couple's two daughters solo while dating and anchoring The Today Show until 2006 and CBS Evening News from 2006-2011.
