Kelly Clarkson Plans to Elope with Fiancé Brandon Blackstock

by Lauren Frankfort

Kelly Clarkson has never been shy about her wedding plans. After a princess-worthy engagement shoot and a music video that looked more like a wedding montage, the "Tie it Up" singer is finally going to tie the knot-but only with fiancé Brandon Blackstock and his two children by her side.

The American Idol winner dished to People that she and her hubby-to-be plan to elope (despite reports that she was planning an "earthy" outdoor fall wedding).

"We are so busy that we finally just came to terms the other night and were like, 'So, we change our minds and we want to elope.' We just got so overwhelmed by it - all the decisions," the "Stronger" singer told People. "We sent out a save-the-date to everyone and then it got crazy and all the details were leaking."
In addition to feeling fatigued by all of the minute decision-making, Clarkson explained that she and Blackstock are extremely busy. She's working on a Christmas album, they have two kids starting school, and Blackstock, a music manager, is flying all over the country for his client Blake Shelton.

To inform their closest friends and family of the change in plans the couple sent out a swoon-worthy photo from their engagement shoot with a message that said, "Thank you so much for understanding, but it's just going to be me and Brandon and his two kids and the minister." Clarkson even tweeted the shot, in which she's wearing an ultra-glam Marchesa design, for fans to see.

"Our whole life is a celebration," the "Catch My Breath" singer continued. "That's what we kept laughing about. We don't need another day where we throw a big party. Our lives are so in the spotlight all the time. Everything is such a spectacle, we were like, 'We would rather have an intimate moment that's special.' "

We just hope she'll share shots from her "Moment Like This" with the world post-nuptials.
