Lady Gaga, Jason Segel and More Celebs Who Have Officiated Their Friends' Weddings

A fairly new trend taking over Hollywood is celebrities marrying off their friends.

Conveniently, with the help of several online companies, one can easily be granted ordained minister status in order to conduct an official wedding and marry a couple. (Kathy Griffin says it only took her 10 minutes!) Also Read: Wedding Trend: Would You Get Married By A Friend?

It's no surprise then that many of our favorite stars, including Lady Gaga, Jason Segel and more, have taken advantage of this honor in order to unite close friends, fans, and even contest winners in holy matrimony. Find out which of your favorite stars double as ordained ministers below.

1. Lady Gaga
Just when we thought Lady Gaga had done it all, she surprised her fans by becoming an ordained minister! Also Read: Lady Gaga Has Babies On The Brain! Is She Moving Too Fast?

Gaga was ordained in 2011 to show her support of same-sex marriage, and to marry her friend/yoga instructor Tricia and her partner after same-sex marriage became legal in New York.

2. Jason Segel

Determined to be wed by Jason Segel, one couple posted an ad on Craigslist in an effort to track down the How I Met Your Mother star. After spotting Segel at a local bar, the lucky couple found themselves saying "I do" on the Tonight Show with Segel as their minister.

This story just makes us love the funny guy even more!

3. Kathy Griffin

In 2008, Kathy Griffin received a letter from her "two biggest fans" asking her to marry them.

Flattered, Griffen flew to Queens, New York to perform the ceremony, and even had it featured on her show, Life On The D List. In the episode, the comedian joked to her mom, "So you can have some respect for once, you're in the presence of a minister."

4. Fran Drescher
After winning TV Land's "Love Is Love" marriage contest, one gay couple was given the wedding of their dreams!

Fran Drescher, a gay rights activist and star of Happily Divorced, married the elated duo in NYC last March to show her support of same-sex marriage. Also Read: 'Happily Divorced': Fran Drescher's Life Turned TV Sitcom

5. Conan O'Brien
Just like Fran Drescher and Lady Gaga, late night talk show host Conan O'Brien showed his support for the gay community when he married his costume designer, Scott Cronick, and his partner, David Gorshein, last November.

The New York City wedding took place on the set of O'Brien's show in front of a live audience.

6. Kris Jenner
As seen on an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kris Jenner became an ordained minister to marry her close friends, Pastor Brad and his wife Karen, at her own home in Los Angeles. The tearful ceremony had Kris joking that she was going to become a full-time minister. "Pray for Pastor Kris," she quipped.

Hmmm... will Kris be using her powers on daughter Kim and Kanye West next?

7. Tori Spelling

According to People, Tori Spelling's self-proclaimed "scariest moment" was marrying a couple at her bed and breakfast in 2007.

Describing the process of becoming ordained, Spelling wrote on her MySpace at the time: "I am now officially ordained. Yep, that's right - Reverend Tori Spelling! I did it last week online and my official certificate is in the mail."

Though shaken by the immensity of the honor placed upon her, the actress married the gay couple with grace in front of their 40 guests, and a portion of the ceremony was shown on Spelling's reality show, Tori & Dean: Inn Love.

Tell us: would you become an ordained minister to officiate a friend's wedding?
