Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries' fairytale wedding may not end happily ever after, according to numerous reports. The LA Times says that Kim has filed for divorce - just 72 days after marriage.

The divorce news sparked our interest and surely yours as well. So genConnect reached out to the premier breakup expert Rachel Sussman , LCSW, and author of the upcoming book The Breakup Bible (Three Rivers Press, Jan, 2012).

The problems that were looming before they tied the knot may have become magnified once they really said "I Do," says Rachel, a licensed marriage and relationship counselor in New York City. "When you're in love with someone and want to marry them, couples can make promises to each other during the engagement. You need to REALLY be honest about certain promises - especially about relocation."

The wedding - which cost an estimated $20 million , aired on national television, received magazine photo spreads, and was talked about extensively on the internet - receiving just as much attention as The Royal Wedding.

"Getting caught up in the hoopla of planning for the wedding is very exciting, and this particular couple may have gotten swept away."

So before the endorphin rush that may occur when shopping for the dress, table settings and cake, Rachel recommends pre-marital counseling. "It teaches couples how to communicate, to talk about wishes, dreams and life goals. Doing those kinds of exercises can save those heartaches down the road."

We hope Kim and Kris find their happy endings …
