Loud Sex is Just a Sign You're Faking It

Howling for his pleasure.

Whenever I see a movie where people are loud during sex (not the X-rated ones) I think of my mom telling me how women who moan are just putting on a show. Kind of a mood killer, yes. But my mom and I just have that kind of relationship where we talk about a lot of things and I think the topic was brought up when we were discussing pornos and how she dislikes most of them because of the overly dramatic moaning. Yikes. Bigger mood killer there. But you know how the saying goes that mom is always right? Well, my mom is right when it comes to this loud sex topic. A recent study has validated that.

Loud moaning, it seems, is just a big show on the woman's part. It doesn't help most of us ladies climax, nor are we saying "oooooooh baby yes!" because we are getting close to our O. We're just doing it for our partner.

Researchers Gayle Brewer of the University of Central Lancashire and Colin A. Hendrie of the University of Leeds took a hard listen to our sex noises, or why we make them. They asked 71 women aged 18 to 48 who were sexually active and heterosexual a whole lot of questions regarding "copulatory vocalization" and if their moans were associated with their own orgasm. The answer for most was no -- they moaned with pleasure in order to get their guy off.

The study revealed that 66 percent moaned to help their man orgasm faster; 92 percent felt having loud sex would boost their man's self-esteem (or shall we say sex-esteem). Other responses on why women moaned in delight was because they were bored, tired, or it hurt so they wanted to speed things along.

This just became a very, very bad thing for any man to read. Because next time their woman starts vocalizing "Yes, baby, yes, ohhhh, mmmm" they are going to think she's a faker. Which she very well may be. But she's doing it for you, man. She's doing it to get you to your pleasure zone. I can think of a lot of things we women do that may not necessarily give us pleasure but gets men off. Blowjob, anyone?

So if the moaning works well for men, why not? (Sorry mom!) Moaning is sexy, sometimes -- often better than someone who is super silent. And the breathing in and out you have to do to say ooooo and ahhhh can actually help you reach orgasm. And I will agree with my mom that the overly dramatic stuff isn't necessary -- why wear yourself out when a little moaning will do the trick. And I'll add that the men out there need to start realizing the importance of foreplay ... and how some pre-sex fun is what can help their woman reach the Big O, too.

What do you think of loud, moaning kind of sex? Do you do it for your partner?
