Do these pictures make anyone else go "Awwwwww!"? Because I'm "Awwwwww!"-ing like crazy right now. Awwwwww!

Yesterday, Us Weekly published three adorable photos of Michelle Williams, Jason Segel, and Michelle's 6-year-old daughter Matilda Rose hanging out recently-and since Michelle and Jason look oh so very cozy together, the accompanying article naturally declared that the two are now a couple. Apparently they've been friends for years, having first been introduced through Michelle's "BFF" and Segel's Freaks and Geeks costar Busy Philipps; the relationship, however, only recently turned tomantic. "They are smitten and very serious," a source told the mag.

Now, bear in mind that this IS Us Weekly we're talking about here, and that generally anything announced by Us Weekly should be taken with a very large grain of salt; but you know what? I really hope that they're right this time.

There are a lot of reasons why it would be awesome if it's true, the biggest of which is that not only are Michelle and Jason both terrifically talented, they're also just fabulous people.

In spite of their enormously successful careers, success doesn't necessarily bring happiness, and they've both had a rough couple of years. Jason's 2007 breakup with Linda Cardellini ended a six-year relationship; although he turned his heartache into something productive-that is, Forgetting Sarah Marshall-six years is a long time, and something like that can be pretty tough to get over. And Michelle? Well, we all know what she's been through; after her split from Heath Ledger and his subsequent death, she was hounded by the Paparazzi even as she struggled to process her grief.

But despite all that, both of them have continued to do brilliant work, whether it's about Marilyn Monroe or the Muppets-and even better? They've both maintained an extremely admirable level of positivity. They're both long overdue for some happy, giggly, goofy, wonderful romance, and I really hope they've found it.

Even if it means that Jason Segel will never belong to this girl . Sorry, Chelsea. At least you'll always have the Chicago Film Critics Awards .
