Simon Cowell, America's favorite man to hate, might just win over our hearts after all.

The music mogul is reportedly this close to proposing to his very pregnant girlfriend Lauren Silverman. And now he legally can! Silverman finalized her divorce from Andrew Silverman, with whom she has a seven-year-old son, in a New York civil court yesterday, People confirmed.

The official split isn't the only reason we hear wedding bells in Cowell's future. The X Factor executive producer and judge has been dropping hints left and right about his pending engagement.

In September he slyly said to Ryan Seacrest during a radio interview, "Let's put it this way, I wouldn't expect her to be a single mother."

Then, just before Thanksgiving, Us Weekly reported that he bought an engagement ring. A source then revealed to People that he is planning a very special Caribbean proposal over Christmas.

"Simon is flying to the Caribbean for the Christmas holiday. Lauren will join him for parts of the holiday trip... It seems he will definitely propose," the source said.

The source also commented on her now-finalized divorce, which at the time was still pending.

"Simon is being supportive of Lauren's divorce settlement with Andrew [Silverman]. Simon just wanted Lauren to get a quick divorce so they could start their new life together. Simon has mentioned that Andrew had a couple of divorce conditions that are not ideal, but he has not talked about the details."

We wouldn't expect any less than an over-the-top international proposal from the reality competition king. We're anxiously awaiting Christmas time and to see the engagement ring he's reportedly already purchased! We do know one thing: If he does get engaged and subsequently married soon, there will be some killer musical performances at his nuptials.
