Will Smith & Jada Pinkett-Smith Plan to Celebrate Their 15-Year Wedding Anniversary with a High-Five

It's been a long time since Will Smith and Jada Pinkett tied the knot in a secret New Year's Eve ceremony-almost 15 years, to be exact.

The stunning couple appeared at the Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted premiere last week with their kids Jaden, 13, and Willow, 11, at their side. Pinkett Smith beamed with excitement when she told People that it's pretty amazing she and Will have hit such a big marriage milestone.

"It's just the beginning," the actress, who voices Gloria the Hippo in the Dreamworks animated film, said of her relationship with the Men in Black 3 star. Despite all the gossip that has kept the couple in the spotlight over the years, the "ridiculous" rumors mean nothing to her.

In April, she spoke to Gala magazine about her supposed marital problems: "Every year, one celebrity couple is under the microscope. This year, unluckily, it's us! ... Will and I know the truth. We're waiting peacefully for the storm to blow over." Read More: Jada Pinkett Smith Shuts Down Rumors Of Rocky Marriage

Now that it has, Pinkett Smith considers she and Will, 43, to be "the best of friends."

"We as men and women have to learn how to be friends with one another," she told People. "It's not just about loving someone. It's about understanding, acceptance and compassion."

Fifteen years may be a long time for a Hollywood marriage, but the couple doesn't have anything extravagant planned. "We celebrate throughout the year," the 40-year-old actress says. "But usually on our wedding anniversary, we give ourselves a high-five and go, 'We survived another year, homie! Yeah!'"

When referring to marriage, she simply explains it as "a beautiful journey with lots of chapters."

"We are nothing like we were when we first met," she says. "Biggest change is that we have grown up. We have matured." Well, we can't wait to keep reading!
