Both Snooki and JWoww will be married with children (Jenni's expecting!) by the end of this year. Yep, let that marinate for a second. Snooki and JWoww = married with children. Makes me feel...um, old. The Jersey Shore kids are all grown up! Both girls stopped by the office to chat about their upcoming plans, and I asked them to share some of their engagement advice with the rest of us.They're both in happy relationships with babies (or babies on the way), so clearly they're onto something. Here's what they had to say about how they got to this point, and what they recommend you do (or don't do) to get there:

DO live with each other first.
"Before you get engaged, you should try living with each other first, because you don't want to get engaged, and then get married, and then move in, and be like, sh*t I don't even like you," Snooki says.

DO make sure you know the not-so-good stuff about your guy.
"Know everything about his past before you accept the ring," says Jenni.

"You need to know all the baggage," Snooki adds. "All the skeletons in the closet," Jenni finishes.

DO meet his family.
"That's a given," Jenni says.

DON'T wait for marriage to have sex.
"Who does that? It's 2014," says Snooki.

DON'T rush getting engaged.
"I think you need at least a year and a half before getting engaged," says Jenni.

DON'T wait too long though.
"My cousin has been dating someone for, like, 13 years. Seriously," Jenni laments.

DO hint at what kind of ring you want.
"I don't want some weird pear-shaped thing or something like that," Jenni says with a laugh. "I also think it takes the pressure away from them. You just guide them. I let Roger design it on his own knowing my requirements."

"I sent Jionni pictures," adds Snooki.

DON'T start planning the wedding immediately.
"Enjoy the engagement! I remember she wanted to rush and get married, like, that summer, and I was like, dude, just relax. worry about that later," Snooki says.

DON'T get engaged if you hate his family (or vice versa).
"Never keep that sh*t to yourself," says Jenni, "because it's only a matter of time--"

"...until you explode," Snooki finishes.

"That's a major issue, and I've noticed that with a lot of families...that relationships don't work out because of families. It's sad but it's true," says Jenni.

DO pick someone who makes you laugh.
"The best part about our relationships is that our fiances are our best friends. Humor and fun and just playing and having a good time come first, which establishes a good relationship," Jenni explains.

"A good relationship is all about laughing and having fun. You have your serious moments, but you need to have fun," says Snooki.

There you have it! All good advice, right? Looking forward to seeing these girls walk down the aisle! "I'm excited. I can't wait," Snooki told us. Head to Save the Date to follow our coverage of both of their big days.
