Study Proves Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus…Really!

If you sometimes feel like you and your husband are speaking different languages, well, you're sort of right. A new study, which examined a larger population than any of its predecessors, proves even more definitively why a long, gushy message on your end may be met by an "okay" on his.

Staring during adolescence, brain wiring begins to differ between men and women--we have more connections between the left and right hemispheres of our brains, whereas men have more within the same hemisphere. That basically means that your hunch was right all along: Women are better at multitasking whereas men excel at linear tasks that require all attention on one thing.

With understanding comes the possibility of improvement, so the idea is to use this research to better communications between the sexes. For example, women may want to edit their messages to get to the point more quickly, and save important messages for when they have a man's full attention. (So, not while Breaking Bad is on in the background, then.) Men can try to be fully present in conversations and ask follow-up questions, considering how a woman wants them to respond, as a means of engagement.
