And the Most Expensive Ballpark to Get Engaged In Is ...

Before there were Vine proposals and Instagram proposals, there were sports arena Jumbotron public proposals. Although baseball stadiums are usually used for, well, baseball, some stadiums bring in extra revenue by charging people who want to propose to their boyfriends or girlfriends there. According to the site Swimmingly, which rounded up ballpark proposal fees in honor of MLB's opening day, love doesn't come cheap.

If your sweetheart is an L.A. Dodgers fan, be prepared to shell out $2,500 to propose at Dodger Field. That's the biggest price tag in all of major league baseball when it comes to proposal fees. Coming in second are the Washington Nationals, who charge $1,500. The rest of the MLB, though, stays out of the four figure range.

But what does that money get you? While most will simply display the "will you marry me?" message and a shot of the hopefully-happy couple on the big screen, some teams do offer additional perks. The Arizona Diamondbacks charge $250, but they include a commemorative DVD of the proposal so that the couple can relive their happy moment forever. The Tampa Bay Rays also offer a DVD and will throw in a dozen roses, while the Philadelphia Phillies include a champagne toast. Several teams, including the Boston Red Sox and the Detroit Tigers, can have the proposal personally delivered by the team's mascot.

Baseball fans who want a slightly more private moment can head to Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals, where $250 gets a private stadium tour for up to 20 people and a proposal on the field at the end.

And it's not just regular folks who take advantage of these stadium proposals. When Kanye West proposed to Kim Kardashian in October, he chose San Francisco's AT&T Park, home of the Giants – where it's just $175 for the honor of popping the question. That's a bargain compared to the team in Kim's native LA, but considering that the rapper hired an orchestra to perform and flew up Kim's family for the occasion he probably wasn't concerned with saving a few bucks.

But what about brides and grooms-to-be who want to spend more on their ring than their proposal? There are good deals to be had with the Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, and Colorado Rockies ($50 each), and the cheapest stadium for proposers is the Pittsburgh Pirates at just $39. Meanwhile, there are several teams who flat-out don't allow proposals at their stadiums: the New York Mets, the Kansas City Royals, the Toronto Blue Jays, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, who seem happy to let the will-you-marry-me dollars go to their sibling team. So, if your beloved is a Maryland native, you might want to come up with a Plan B.
