Go for a wine or champagne tasting

A tasting is a fun, sophisticated way to get a buzz and feel all cultured at the same time-a win-win situation, no? Check with vineyards (if you have them in your area), wine stores or the listings in your local paper to find a wine event. And then definitely hire a van for this one so no one has to worry about being the designated driver.

Head to trivia night

Test your useless and not-so-useless knowledge. Bars often host trivia nights, but if you can't find one in your area, pick up the latest edition of Trivial Pursuit, reserve a private room at a pub or restaurant and host your own with silly prizes from a dollar store or party supply shop.

Go on a cupcake crawl

…Or a pie crawl or a cookie crawl or a random-dessert crawl-you get the idea. Just warn everyone to have a light dinner, then have a limo take the crew around to the spots with the best sweets in town. And be sure to keep wet naps in your purse and bag of salty mini-pretzels to refresh your palate between tastings. One warning: Pace yourselves and consider buddying up partygoers to split each treat-you don't want to go into sugar overload too quickly.

Belt it out at karaoke

What's a girls' night out without a rousing rendition of "Total Eclipse of the Heart"? An evening of karaoke is a great way to bond while living out your rock-star fantasies. You can even incorporate that whole "gettin' hitched" theme by having everyone pick her favorite love song to try her vocal stylings on. Shy bride? Some karaoke bars have private rooms available for groups.

Bliss out at a day spa

Do we really have to convince anyone that a day of pampering would be nice? Probably not. And for those worrying about budget, the great thing about a spa day is that it allows the party participants to choose services that fit in their price range (on the low-end you've got manis and/or pedis; on the higher end, massages and facials). And for a festive touch, when you book, ask if you can bring in a couple of bottles of champagne to sip while you're getting prettied up.

Take a sexy dancing class

Polish your flirting skills with a pole dancing, striptease or belly dancing class where you can learn to shake your booty, swivel your hips and generally get in touch with your inner sex kitten. Everyone may feel a little silly at first, but by the end the whole crew will be rocking it (or at least having fun trying). Hey, it even counts as a workout, so you all can skip the gym that day-score!

Win big

Take a cue from Save the Date's own Jenny Feldman and head to a casino. Everyone's mission: to keep the bride's stack of chips full all evening. If you want to go that extra step and theme it out, think '20s-style dresses and black and red balloons.

Have a fortune-telling night

Go all mystical and hire an astrologer, palm reader, tarot card reader or other "look into my crystal ball" type to come over and give individual reading to all the guests. A nice touch: Hand out little notebooks in the bride's wedding colors so each person can write down her predictions to check back on years later.

Plan a night of comedy

Laughter is a great antidote to the stress of planning a wedding, so heading to the one place where it's someone's job to make sure you're cracking up makes sense, right? It's kind of genius. Just double check that it's not amateur night before you book the seats. Also be sure to ask about drink minimums, which can add up quickly.

Host an old-fashioned game night

There are two ways to go about a game night: 1) Head out for the activities you loved as a kid like mini-golf, bumper cars, skee ball, etc. at arcade-themed spots. Or 2) Stay in with DIY games like Mad Libs, charades, Scattergories and Go Fish. Both are affordable and way fun.

Throw a panty party

Stock the bride's lingerie drawer by asking everyone to bring her something from the intimates department. When you send out the invite, specify that it'll be a panty-themed shindig and be sure to include the lucky lady's bra and undies size. Then gather everyone somewhere private to marvel at the prettiness, sexiness and crotchlessness as she opens up her presents.
