Want Sex Like, All the Time? You're in Good Company

We're thinking you already know this from, oh y'know, informal research, but it turns out that some people are just plain wired to have more sex. A study in UCLA's Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience journal used brain recordings to determine that some people's brains are more "sensitive to sexual cues" -- and naturally, they're more likely to make it a mission to get laid. (Hands up if an old college friend came to mind.)

About 225 psychology students were shown a variety of photos that included couples kissing, having sex or doing something totally G-rated. And it turns out that the folks whose brain activity jumped to a wider range of intimacy pics (not just the porny ones) were also the same ones with more notches on their bedposts. (And in case you were wondering, neither gender wound up ranking as hornier overall than the other.)

Unfortunately, though, short of tracking down your neighborhood electroencephalogram (EEG) lab, so far there's no way to find out who's likely to be more promiscuous. In the meantime, a "red light/green light" party might be the closest we can get!
