New Wedding Colors: Emerald and Jade

New Wedding Colors: Emerald and Jade

Emerald is the color of the moment in both fashion and home décor, but it's always been a classic to us. We've paired it with jade for celebration ideas that'll have you reconsidering what it means to go green.

Tropical Tablescape
If you thought tropical plants only belong beachside, these rich centerpieces will help you see them in a new way. To make, group ferns, cyclamen leaves, and Christmas cactus in glass vases placed along a softly printed runner. Gilt-rimmed plates, beeswax candles, and gold flatware complete the pretty scene.

Green Bridesmaids
Let your ladies take cover in an LGD (that's little green dress) they'll love now and hold onto forever as a cocktail-party go-to. Choose a few hues and a good mix of styles to steer clear of the clone zone.

Stylish Stationery
Get your guests talking about your upcoming affair with Art Deco-inspired stationery that the great Jay Gatsby and his Champagne-swilling crowd surely would've loved. With its gold lettering and patterned envelope liners, the "Presidio" invitation suite by Dauphine Press announces an event reminiscent of a Roaring twenties gala, while their sunburst coasters and tasseled tags keep the gilded party going.

Set in Stone
This project couldn't be simpler. Hit the flea market for a frame, paint it green, then cut a "Malachite Mineral" sticker to fit (wallmonkeys.com). Apply it to a piece of foam core, insert into the frame, then pin guests' names to the front.

Mineral Spirits
To make this snazzy drinks tray, cut the decal to size, stick it to the bottom of a tray, and voilà! Next, add signature drinks that play up the palette. Cucumber purée gives the Stealth Margarita its hue. White rum, basil simple syrup, and honeydew melon liven up the Garden Daiquiri. This Apple and Rosemary Fizz puts a nonalcoholic spin on the real thing. Garnish Sangria Blanco with slices of star fruit, kiwi, green apple, lime, and whole grapes. An Oyster Shooter gets a kick from Agua Verde (juiced celery, tomatillos, and cucumber) and green-pepper tabasco.

Spruced Up Style
Nothing elevates a white or ivory gown like a burst of color. Step out in dazzling heels, carry a brilliant bag, or swathe yourself in verdant jewels that'll enliven your look.
