What should Kate & Prince William say in their vows?

The countdown to the royal wedding has begun -- it's only a matter of weeks now until Prince William marries Kate Middleton on April 29th in Westminster Abbey.

Every detail will be scrutinized from her dress, to his hair, to the weather. It will be a huge party in London (and in my living room) so everything must be as perfect as possible.

The latest news about the wedding is about Kate and Will's vows -- will they or won't they write their own?

Their wedding has been about sticking to and honoring tradition, and their vows will do just that. The pair will either use the vows from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, or the more updated set of vows from the Book of Common Worship, which is generally used today in the Protestant Church of England.

The latter is the one nearly all of us are familiar with, the former has the same meaning, but uses old-timey words like "thine" and "troth." As in, "according to God's holy ordinance; and thereto I plight thee my troth."

That sounds like a tongue twister, and I can barely understand half of what Prince William says to begin with (he swallows his words -- speak up, son!) so I really hope they don't go with the vows from 1662. Personally I'd like them to write their own vows. It seems unlikely they'd use this, but in case they are scanning the Internet for vow ideas, here are some my own.

Kate should say: Dear William, I love you and I think it's awesome you're a Prince. This is really doing wonders for me personally, and I'm really happy you chose me. I know you really liked an American girl who writes blog posts about you, and she seemed really cool, but "Lindsay" isn't a great name for a royal, so I'm glad you went with your second choice: me. Love you! Mean it.

William should say: Dear Kate, I love you and I think it's awesome you're cool with being my runner up for Princess. Not a lot of ladies would be able to handle that, but you just put on a floppy hat and a brave face and I like that about you. I thought it was really hot when you wore that see-through dress back at University and I'd like to see more of that on our honeymoon. You're tops. Well, second tops, but still. You're close. Hugs!

And then they give each other a peck on the cheek and live happily ever after.

What would you want to hear in Kate and William's vows?
