How Women Feel About Movember: Yay or Nay to the 'Satche?

by Gena Kaufman, Glamour

Bye bye Halloween, hello mustaches! Movember begins today. How are we feeling about it?

As has become popular in recent years, in November men around the world start growing mustaches to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues. In honor of the movement, the Zoosk team sent over a survey they conducted among 8,500 members to discern their feelings on facial hair, and they were pretty positive in the good old U.S. of A. In fact, 64% of American men claim to sport some facial hair, and 80% of American women say they are fine with their guy sporting some growth. A few other random facts for your entertainment:

* Why do American men grow facial hair? It makes them feel better. How so? Here's the breakdown: 40% feel more confident, 36% feel more attract, 15% feel more sophisticated, and 9% feel more intelligent. Aww, do what you gotta do, fellas, but know that we love you anyway.

* Our international counterparts aren't so into it. Only 40% of French men have facial hair, and the majority of women in Australia, France, Mexico and Denmark prefer a clean-shaven look.

* Sorry mustaches, goatees rule. Goatees are the preferred facial hair among American women; soul patches are the least preferred.

* But go ahead and grow that 'stache anyway, boys. It's for a good cause, and 63% of American women say they would be more open to a romance with a guy who was avoiding the razor for a worthy cause (only 27% of the heartless French mademoiselles agree).

* Johnny Depp, nom nom nom. More than 50% of women around the world think he sports the best facial hair. Men prefer Sean Connery.

And whatever your feelings on facial hair, according to the rules of Movember, each "Mo Bro" is required to "conduct himself like a true country gentleman," a sentiment you might be able to get behind.

So, will your guys be growing a mustache for Movember? Does he usually sport facial hair? And do you like it or not??
