Hooray for Happy Chaos!

Here at This Week in M.O.M, we are big fans of Soleil Moon Frye. Ever since she joined us in studio to share her "happy chaos" moments, her warmth, enthusiasm and joy charmed us immediately. Despite her Hollywood upbringing as star of Punky Brewster, she's now a mom's mom. Talking to her is like talking to your best mom friend at the playground, you immediately feel comfortable enough to share your parenting victories and mishaps.

Soleil's new book, Happy Chaos, has that same feeling! She recounts her personal parenting follies, anecdotes, and tips, and she assures us moms that there is no secret manual given to the parents who look like they have it all together. There is no "doing it wrong". And if you are wondering what that smell is, you should check your hair. (brilliant!) I love the message of the book, that we, as parents are all works in progress, and it's okay to give ourselves the permission to be "perfectly imperfect".

I was so thrilled that she invited me to the official launch party of Happy Chaos that was thrown by Target. We got to chat about dinner time battles and hang with some of her mommy tribe including...Rebecca Gayheart, Demi Moore, and Jane Buckingham.

Guests snapped pics and hung them on the Polaroid "wall"-what a great idea!
