"My husband, Sal, and I put date nights on the calendar once a week," says Sherri Shepherd. "I know that doesn't sound romantic, but otherwise it won't get done." Between The View and her stint on Dancing With the Stars, it's no wonder her schedule is packed. Here, how else she squeezes in family time.

What's the best part of your day?
When I wake up and my son is saying, "Mommy, I'm hungry." So I get him ready for school and watch him eat.

How do you balance work with being a wife and mother?
A lot of prayer! And if it's something that takes me away from Jeffrey [7] and Sal, I say no. They're number one.

The one beauty product you can't live without?
Fake eyelashes. They give my lashes depth and make my eyes pop.

Five things that are always in your fridge?
There's mango Snapple, for Sal; rice milk for my son; all kinds of salad dressings; mustard, because I put it on everything; and shrimp--my husband loves to cook it.

Three words that describe you as a wife?
"Loose." "Fun." "Consistent."

And as a mom?
"Protective." "Compassionate." And I'm pretty humorous.

What do you splurge on?
Shoes. Growing up, we didn't have any money--we shopped where you picked your shoes out of a bin. When I was little, I said, "When I grow up, I'm going to have nice shoes.

What's on your nightstand?

My iPod, a bunch of work papers, a picture of Jeffrey in his first tuxedo, my alarm clock, the TV remote, and my Bible. If it's four in the morning and I can't sleep, I figure that's God going, "Hey, get up and talk to Me."

Your favorite guilty pleasures?
The TV shows Revenge and Boardwalk Empire, M&M's, and my husband's scallops wrapped in bacon.

When you have heated debates on The View, do they continue backstage?
Even with the most passionate debate, it only continues five seconds afterward. We really respect one another.

You did comedy before daytime talk. How was that transition?
Scary! I was taught not to confront and interrupt people, but that's what I do every day on The View.. I only began feeling comfortable at the table last year.
