“Eat, Pray, Love” Ad Airs During “The Bachelorette”: Who Let That Happen?

Bachelorette fans many have noticed that last night's episode featured a supremely uncomfortable moment last night, and I'm not talking about the interaction between Bachelorette Ali and the caught-in-his-past Frank. I'm talking about what happened during the commercials. An hour into The Bachelorette's two hour show, an ad ran for the movie Eat, Pray, Love. That's the Julia Roberts flick based on Elizabeth Gilbert's memoir of the same name - a memoir about a woman ditching her marriage, deciding to go at life solo, forgoing having kids.

Say what?

The movie is like the flipside of The Bachelorette, with Julia Roberts playing Bizarro Ali. Because after all, Ali is looking for someone with whom to put down roots. Chris L., on last night's episode, even snuck in a discussion with her about where they'd settle down (because though the show rarely succeeds, settling down is supposed to be the goal). He had a point when he said that it's about the people you're with, not the place.
