Baby Sues Airline After Getting Food Poisoning In The Womb! Wait… What?

Zayd Cherry was born with health problems two months after his mom caught listeria from a chicken roll she ate on a Virgin Australia flight.

Mom Renee Cherryclaims the two are connected and she's suing the Richard Branson-owned airline for compensation… on her baby's behalf!

"It's every mother's worst nightmare," Renee tells the Daily Mail.

She recovered from the illness, but claims one-year-old Zaydwas born in 2009 with bacterial infection called listeriosis, listeria bacteria poisoning, gastro-intestinal injury, developmental delay, and anxiety.

Renee has filed a statement of claim in the Australian court system, blaming the "tainted" sandwich she bought from Virgin.

The statement reads, "The roll was tainted and not fit for human consumption, as it contained listeria bacteria. The listeria bacteria poisoned the blood of the plaintiff's mother and the plaintiff and caused him to suffer injury."

Mom and son are seeking medical expenses, damages and compensation for loss of income Zayd may suffer as an adult.

Virgin Australia have yet to comment on the case.

What do you think HollyMoms? It's every pregnant woman's worst nightmare, but is Renee right to sue?
