Beyonce and Jay Z Expecting: 4 Reasons They'll Be Great Parents!

Beyonce dropped some big news on the red carpet at the 2011 MTV VMAs - she's pregnant! We would have never guessed the "The Best Thing I Never Had" singer was preggers after she sported a very svelte leotard at her concerts at NYC's Rosewood Ballroom, but are we surprised? Not at all! Bey dropped the hint that she'd have a baby when she was 30 years old, and the songstress is only a week shy of her 30th birthday. Tonight as she took the stage for her performance, she gave a little tribute to her bun in the oven saying, "I want everyone to feel the love growing inside of me." Her rockin' performance grabbed a standing ovation from the VMA audience, so (natch) Beyonce gave the audience what they wanted and rubbed her baby bump, while proud papa Jay-Z looked on with a mile-wide smile! We couldn't be more excited for the hip hop duo! Here are four reasons we're thrilled Jay-Z and Beyonce are becoming parents!

Imagining Beyonce sing lullabies is a heavenly thought: Can you just imagine Beyonce singing sweet lullabies like, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," "Rock a Bye Baby" or "You are My Sunshine"? Not to mention, Jay-Z will likely be penning little diddies about his precious kid before we know it. Just thinking about it gives me chills - this is going to be one lucky kid!

They'll be great parents! The pair has achieved mega-success, but they never forget to support each other and show their love. We know they'll do the same for their tiny tot when it arrives! Beyonce couldn't keep quiet about her hubs, telling UsWeekly at the 2011 MTV VMAs that Jay-Z is "amazing" and a "good man." Earlier this month, Jay-Z was busy talking about his lady love to 99 Jamz Radio saying, "What I've learned from her is similar to what I learned from Mike [Jackson] - and I know that's blasphemy to compare the two because Mike was such an innovator - but I think she's like the second coming."

Their kid is going to be gorgeous: The "Sasha Fierce" singer has hands-down one of the most flawless faces in Hollywood and has a rockin' bod to boot. Jay is a stud in his own right, and we expect their baby will be just as good looking as his/her parents.

They'll be protective of their bundle of joy: Just like their tight-lipped marriage, we expect the musical duo will keep their bundle of joy out of the press. Don't get me wrong - they will likely be very proud parents, but you probably won't catch them parading their baby around NYC in designer duds, or pushing their tot straight into the family business like other celeb parents (sorry, Will and Jada).
