Chelsea Clinton Is Pregnant!

Big news! Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton is pregnant with her first child.

Clinton made the announcement on Thursday during an event to support the The Clinton Foundation's women's initiative "No Ceilings: The Full Participation Project,” which she attended with her mother, Hillary Clinton, in New York City. Toward the end of the speech she gave at the event, Clinton, 34, said to the crowd, "I have one more thing to say very quickly. I just want to thank all of you for being such an inspiration to us and to me in particular. Marc and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year. And I certainly feel all the better, whether it’s a girl or a boy, that she or he will grow up in a world with so many strong, young female leaders."

Clinton and her husband, investment banker Marc Mezvinsky, have been married since 2010. The couple made their baby plans known back in October when Clinton told Glamour magazine they would start trying this year.

"We sat down and said, 'Here's what we want to do.' The first thing on the list was simple: We want, God willing, to start a family," she said in the interview. "So we decided we were going to make 2014 the Year of the Baby. And please, call my mother and tell her that. She asks us about it every single day."

In the fall, Hillary Clinton told ABC News that she's looking forward playing the role of grandmother, saying, “I will certainly tell you, that’s a title I would be proud to have." Her husband feels the same way. In September, the former president told Charlie Rose, "My goal is to live to be a grandfather.” Here's to the youngest future president!
