Daily Shot: How Do We Make Sure Sandy Hook Never Happens Again?

Today Ali and John continue their discussion of the Sandy Hook tragedy, addressing the controversial, "I am Adam Lanza's mother" blog post, which calls for America to seriously address the issue of mental illness after Friday's events.

What do you think of the "I Am Adam Lanza's Mother" blog post? Tell us in the comments!

The now-infamous post was written by Liza Long, the mother of a mentally ill, potentially violent child. Long's post emphasizes the issue of mental illness and calls on Americans to take action. The question is, after a tragedy like this, do we deal with mental illness or do we deal with the guns? Ali staunchly believes that you focus on removing the access to guns first because it can be done quickly, while mental illness is a significantly more complicated issue, but it is clear that this debate will continue in the weeks to come.
