DryMax? I don't think so

I have always been a big fan of Pampers products, after all I started using them 17 years ago. First with my brother (big age gap) then more recently with my now 3 year old daughter. I loved all of their products and only used Pampers diapers and Pampers wipes. Hey, if they made clothes I would have probably used those, too. So of course when I had my next child (he'll be 7 months next week) I automatically started buying Pampers again. No problems for the first 6 months when I purchased Pampers Sensitive Swaddlers up to size 2. This week it was time to move up a size and I went to find the Pampers Sensitive Swaddlers in size 3. I did not realize until I opened the box that it had a tiny (about 2 inch square) marking showing the diapers were made with DryMax. I had read some of the bad press about the diapers supposedly causing blistering on some children but as it was late at night and I was out of the regular diapers I decided to try them and hope for the best. Well, the Pampers with DryMax didn't cause and blistering or rash of any kind on my son's bottom but I really believe Proctor & Gamble (the makers of Pampers) should rename their product. I have always been more than pleased with the absorbency of Pampers in the past and through a total of about 4 years of using them (2 years for my brother and 2 for my daughter) I had to deal with diaper leaks maybe 8 times. Two a year is most certainly acceptable in my book. But in the past three days of using DryMax diapers I have had to change my son's sheets 7 times from leaks- something I have only had to do once in the previous six months- and his clothes at least 4 times. I started carefully watching his diaper after the first two leaks wondering how the leaks were happening so quickly. After about 10 minutes he had urinated once and the diaper was soaked through to the point of dripping. I was appalled. The diaper fits perfectly so it isn't leaking through gaps of any kind- the diapers just leak constantly. At this point I believe I could fasten a piece of tissue paper around his bottom and have better results. This once loyal Pampers Mom is no more. Now I just have to decide if I am going to buy Luv's or Huggies.
