It's 10PM. Do You Know What Your Kids Are Reading?

By Barbara Greenberg, Phd and Jennifer Powell-Lunder, PsyD for GalTime.com

I was flipping through some teen magazines to see what the teens are reading about these days. YIKES! The titles that caught my eye included:

1.Weird Things He Thinks at the Beach.
2.A Little Girl Peed On Me.
3.I Sat in A Puddle of Puke.
4.I Went to Class Without My Pants.
5.I Sneezed on the Principal.
and finally
6.They Said I Smelled Like Rotten Fish.

At this point, I became even more concerned about not only what teens are reading, but also about how rough things have gotten for them since I've been a teen. I worried about many things as a teen. I certainly was not carefree, but I really don't remember being peed on, smelling like rotten fish, or even going to class half-undressed. I do confess that since high school I have had a recurring dream about going to take a test without being prepared.

Please help me understand... Are the six topics listed things that I need to be talking to teens about?
