We're on week four of the never-ending gross, wet cough, runny nose and endless tissue in the crazedparent house. You know what I'm talking about: the cold that gets passed back and forth among the entire family for about two months and then it magically disappears.

A few weeks ago I wrote about some things you should have on hand in case your kids get sick and four things to cheer your little ones up on sick days.

I'm adding this to the list: Make a 'Get Better Box'

Clare over at Mbutterfudge gathered some little treasures and toys in a tin container and it only comes out when her little ones are under the weather. She got the idea after reading the book My Naughty Little Sister. So cute and easy to assemble because you don't need to go out and buy a single thing. Use toys your kids haven't played with in a while and maybe some cute knick-knacks you've picked up over the years (colorful buttons, bracelets, stuffed animals) and place it in a tin or box that you decorate.

The key to the success of a Get Better Box is this: Only bring it out when the kids are sick. And when they are better? Hide it. Immediately.
