Parenting Guru: Father's Day gift ideas

Father's Day is less than 3 weeks away. You have plenty of time to shop. Make your shopping easier with this guide of favorite gifts.
For the casual dad:

Reef Men's Fanning Flip Flop

We gift this to my husband every single year. It's like his rite of summer, and it's now an expectation. Before I bought him his first pair, he refused to wear flip flops because they were uncomfortable. Now? He wears them almost every day. Just beware. While most beer drinkers enjoy these shoes, we've come across a few germ-o-phobes who are disgusted by just the idea of opening a beer bottle with the bottom of a shoe. If Dad is one of those, get him a pair of Reefs without the bottle opener, like Reef Men's Phantoms Sandal

For the reader:

Kindle My husband and I had a great conversation about wireless-tech products the other day. I am totally fine with having a wifi-only Kindle and iPad. He, on the other hand, sees more value in having 3 or 4G. So, there you go. If your husband is an avid reader, I now recommend getting him the 3 or 4G, because that's what my husband wants. (A bit ironic, when you consider that my Mothers Day post recommended the $114 Kindle that has wifi only and advertising.)
For the professional:

Kenneth Cole Reaction Luggage Mind Your Own Business

I truly believe that only you know type of bag best suits your husband. And while I have a pretty good idea of types, styles and necessities (pockets!) in diaper bags, I'm not about to start studying a men's briefcase. A few years ago, I gifted my husband Victorinox Architecture 2.0 Trevi Briefcase

and it was perfect for him. Shop around to find one his style. And if it's this Kenneth Cole bag, so glad I made your life easier!
For the Outdoor Chef

Weber Style 6445 Professional-Grade Stainless-Steel 3-Piece Barbeque Tool Set

Actually, I think I'd love this gift just as much as he would, because I grill pretty often. About every other year, I find myself going out to get new grill tools. If your husband is the BBQ chef, make his life a bit easier with some grilling tools.
For the DIY Dad

Bosch CLPK27-120 12-Volt 2-Tool Combo Kit

Honestly, I don't know one electric drill from another, but this one earned 5 stars on Amazon and, at the time of this writing, you can save $25.00 when you purchase 1 or more Bosch cordless tools offered by Amazon.com. What I do know is that an electric drill is a fabulous thing to have in your home and if you don't have one, or if you don't have a decent one, you should. I can't believe the hand cramps we suffered before having one. Now that we use our drill, it takes a flip of a switch to get a screw in or out. Good bye manual screwdrivers!
For the adventurous Dad:

Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver With Heart Rate Monitor

My husband doesn't geo-cache, but I hear that people make it a real hobby. Rather than using up his cell phone battery, gift Dad this watch-style GPS Receiver. (There's a new model available, but this one received 4.5 stars on Amazon and is available at a lesser price... so why not, right?)
For the entertainer Dad

Vacu Vin Stainless Steel Wine Saver Gift Set

with

Metrokane Vertical Rabbit Lever Style Corkscrew with Foil Cutter, Velvet Black

If Dad drinks wine, he will thank you, tremendously, for making his life easier with both the wine opener and wine sealer. The opener takes corks out in one quick pull, rather than twisting the screw and letting pieces of cork fall into the wine. The Saver vacuums the air out of the bottle when re-corking.

Ever since I sent my first personalized greeting card, I've loved the options at Tiny Prints. Their Father's Day collection is just as fantastic as the other holiday and everyday cards. So find your favorite picture and surprise your favorite Dad with a card made just for him.
