When some celebrities have babies, they them so far under wraps that it's sometimes ages before us nosy Nellies in the general public get a peek (hello, Natalie Portman!). Others choose to reveal images of their wee little ones via the magazines… for a price (Brad and Angelina sold images of Shiloh to People for over $4.1 million; photographs of Jessica Alba and Cash Warren's older daughter, Honor Marie, went to OK! Magazine for $1.5 million; and so on and so forth). But why bother with the secrecy OR with the magazines when you've got something as wonderful as Twitter right at your fingertips?

This is apparently the school of thought to which new mom Hilary Duff subscribes, because yesterday, she Tweeted out a couple of pictures of her and hubby Mike Comrie's 2-week-old baby boy, Luca Cruz Comrie. Meet Luca, everyone!

Isn't he adorable? The former Lizzie Maguire star sent this pic out into the world along with the message, "Baby Luca, 2 weeks old :)". She followed it up with this one, accompanied with the words, "Oh no! The flood gates have opened! Proud mamma on the loose! I can't help myself.. Here's one more:"

Using Twitter to reveal Luca, by the way, was a smart move on Hilary's part. Sure, she may have not gotten the multi-million payout from a magazine for the images, but a) It's unlikely that she really NEEDS the money, and b) It's kind of awesome that she didn't, y'know, pimp her child out for the sake of a paycheck. Hilary has over 1 million followers, and Tweeting the first pics of her baby to them reads more like a proud mama who wants to share her joy with everyone ever-not a celebrity who sees everything as a business opportunity.
