Super-Involved Dads Get Treated Worse by Coworkers

One of the major relationship lessons we took from Lean In was that, when you and your man share the money-making and the domestic duties, everyone wins.

Except that now, it seems like the men actually kinda lose in this scenario-when it comes to getting respect, that is.

According to new research from the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management and the Long Island University Post, men who take on more of a caregiver role in their families are treated worse at work than guys who stick closer to gender norms. Which is total BS in our books: Not only is it awesome when dads are just as involved with their kids as moms traditionally are, but have you ever witnessed a hot guy holding a baby? (See: David Beckham, left, for reference.) If that doesn't make your ovaries tingle with joy, we don't know what will.

The study also found, however, that women who break outside the norm as far as their caregiving arrangements go and women without children are actually treated worse than those nontraditional guys are. Apparently, people who follow the model of men working more and women doing more of the work when it comes to kids and stuff around the house are the least likely to be subjected to side-eyes and harassment at work.

Um, are we in 2013 or 1953 here? No matter what people's choices are, and no matter if you agree with them, we should at least learn to have some freaking manners.
