The Great Mom Debate: Would You Do a "Bump Portrait" While Pregnant? (Plus, Victoria Beckham Releases Baby Name!)

By Charlotte Hilton Andersen, REDBOOK

Congratulations to the Beckhams in welcoming their baby girl, Harper Seven Beckham! Maybe it's because she just had a baby girl after having three boys, just like me (I'm such a trendsetter!), or because "Spice Up Your Life" was a large part of my formative years, or perhaps because she's married to super hottie David Beckham, but whatever the reason, I've been following Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham's fourth pregnancy fairly closely. I say "fairly" because there hasn't been much to follow, as Beckham is notoriously private about her pregnancies.

While she hasn't hidden in a box, Beckham has only been seen out and visibly pregnant a handful of times-the royal wedding being the most notable. And when she did appear, her outfits were never tight or body conscious like all of her pre-pregnancy wear. David Beckham, obviously not sharing the same compunctions as his wife, posted a picture of her sunbathing on Facebook just days before she gave birth crowing proudly, "Took this pic of Victoria while she wasn't looking. She looks amazing, so close now to the baby being born!"

Addressing questions about whether or not she would do a nude pregnant portrait like many other stars, the fashion designer told US Weekly, "I'm not really one of those people that likes to go out and pose and flaunt being pregnant. Not like there's anything wrong in that. I'm so proud to be pregnant and I feel so blessed and so happy, I really do. But I'm just not that kind of person. So, no, I won't be taking my clothes off. I don't think anyone needs to see that, other than my husband. Absolutely not."

I'm with Victoria on this one. Although I'm not ashamed of my pregnancies, I honestly don't feel the "beautiful glow" that many other women say they feel. I have plenty of clothed candid shots of me pregnant, but there isn't a single "baby bump" portrait of any of my kids in the watermelon stage. I didn't do belly painting or a belly cast, nor did I wear a bikini or other bump-revealing attire. I don't think it's wrong when other women do it; I just personally didn't feel comfortable with it.

Did you take any belly portraits when you were pregnant? Does pregnancy make you feel glowing and beautiful or do you prefer to keep it under wraps?

- Every occasion I got! The pregnant body is a work of art.

- A few, just for close family to see.

- No, I preferred to keep my bump private.
