Top 5 Funny Things My Kid Has Mispronounced

I recently read an article about funny things that kids say, or more specifically, things they mispronounce. For example, one kid called pimples 'pinch balls' while another one swapped out the word lotion for 'oh sh-t'. Kids say the darndest things, don't they?

My kids included. My son used to say some funny, sometimes naughty things when he was little. Let's just say if you didn't know him or understand what he was saying, you'd think he had a potty mouth. See for yourself.

He was fascinated with Thomas the Train and friends, and one of his favorites was Percy, which he pronounced as 'p-ssy'. I can't tell you how embarrassing it was to walk down a toy store aisle with your kid screaming 'p-ssy…p-ssy' at the top of his lungs.

He also loved clocks. You know where this is going. I just prayed that we wouldn't come across a Percy clock one day. Luckily, we never did.

We were shopping for shirts one day and he says to me, "Mama, I want to take this hooker home." There were lots of other mothers shopping around me, and they gave me that smile. You know the one. Mortified, I turned around and saw him with a hanger. Phew! He meant hanger but insisted it was called a hooker because you hook things on it. He does have a point.

We were at my in-laws for dinner and my son was reading a book about trucks. My sister-in-law came up to him and reached for the book, and he says loudly, "Backhoe!" We had to explain that he was talking about the excavating vehicle and not being a brat.

He had a hard time pronouncing his name, Maxwell, so in a thick Antonio Banderas-Spanish accent, for a while he was known as 'Manuel'.
