Why Women in England Won't Name Their Newborns Until Kate Middleton Names the Royal Baby

According to Netvouchercodes.co.uk (a U.K. discounted shopping website), new U.K moms are actually willing to leave their newborns unnamed until Kate and Prince William deliver (and name) their own little he (or she).

While the world waits with bated breath, the U.K. company surveyed 400 new mothers and found that more than 10 percent have put off naming their children until Clarence House announces the much-anticipated name of the royal baby. Luckily, laws in the U.K allow mothers to leave their children nameless for up to six weeks postpartum - which is a hell of a long time to wait before donning your own royal kid with a moniker (isn't it?).

Here's why mums in England are willing to wait before deciding on a name:

"My husband and I have decided to wait to see what the royal baby is called before naming ours," one survey participant said. "We have thought of quite a few names but we both decided it would be lovely to see what Will and Kate choose first. I love the name Alexandra so if we have a girl then it may well be the most straight-forward decision we have to make."

Another added, "My baby is due before the royal baby, but I already know I definitely want it to have the same name. The birth of Will and Kate's baby is such a monumental event that is going to be remembered forever, just like the royal wedding. Giving my baby the same name is my personal way of celebrating."

A spokeswoman for the discount shopping site even chimed in! In an interview with The Huffington Post they added, "The birth of the royal baby is hugely exciting; when someone famous has a baby the naming of it can be important to many people. Whatever name the royal couple choose there is no doubt that there will be thousands of babies who will also share the same name."

But in the meantime - all bets are on! Coral Bookmakers, a U.K. bookmaking firm is waging big bets that if the Duchess delivers a lady she'll be named Charlotte. Other odds are stacked in favor of Alexandra, Elizabeth and Diane. However, if the she is in fact a he, the biggest odds are in favor of baby being named George or Frances. Since the palace has been mum on basically all the details of the royal delivery, placing bets on the date and name have become a cash cow for the bookmaking firm.

We've placed our own bets on the royal baby's name - for both a he and a she. If Kate delivers a girl, we think she'll name her Elizabeth Diana Carole and if they're having a boy, he'll be dubbed Philip.

Gary Burton, from the Coral firm, said "It is the biggest novelty market we have ever seen." So far, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have drawn a record number of bets for a non-sports market, worth more than 1.67 million so far. "We did the Pope, we did reality TV and this is by far the biggest we have had," said Burton. "It's getting busier and busier the more it goes on and the more coverage it gets."

Do you think these women are crazy for waiting to name their babies? What do you think Will and Kate will name their baby?
