Adorable Photos Show Bond Between Baby and Dog

Devin and Jake Crouch adopted their dog Toby in June 2011. Their son, Carter, came into their lives nearly a year and a half later. And from the very beginning, the bond between the boy and this adopted dog was unbreakable.

The Indianapolis couple decided to start an Instagram account as a way to document the adorable friendship between baby and beast. Now, the account has nearly 20,000 followers and fans all over the world can't get enough of the photogenic pair.

Devin told the Daily Mail that Toby was protective of his human brother from the moment Carter came home from the hospital. "Toby stayed close to his new brother and would follow anyone who would hold Carter," she told reporters.

In the two years since the Crouch family started to document Carter and Toby's bond, Toby has gone from being the boy's protector to being his playmate and his closest companion.

The handsome fellas do everything together. They swim in the kiddie pool. They dress up in dapper outfits. They snuggle together on the couch. They play all kinds of sports together. And they just hang-they way only best friends do.

Devin Crouch hopes to one day share the Instagram photos with Carter when he is older so that her son can see how Toby loved him from the very first day he came into the world. Devin also hopes that the account will inspire people to consider animal adoption. The mother knows first hand that rescued pets can make wonderful additions to a family.

"It's been 3 years since this handsome rescue pup found his way into our lives (and hearts)," she wrote on Instagram. "Our family is incredibly thankful for that day. Toby was not in "our plan," now we could not imagine a life without him."

Everybody all together now-awwwwwwwww!
