America's First Cat Cafe Opens in New York -- for 4 Days

New York has joined the ranks of London, Tokyo and Seoul with a pop-up cat café where visitors can sip cat-inspired coffee while playing with furry - and adoptable - felines.

Purina ONE and the North Shore Animal League, the country's largest no-kill rescue, teamed up to create the café, which is open April 24-27 in Manhattan's Bowery neighborhood.

Patrons can sip "cat'achinos" while stroking kitties and learning about cat health from one of the many cat experts Purina ONE has scheduled to appear.

If visitors connect with one of the kitties, they can apply to adopt their new feline friend.

Carrie Ann Inaba, a judge on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" and founder of The Carrie Ann Inaba Animal Project, will be there for the café's opening with a presentation on Purina ONE's 28-Day Challenge.

"Our goal for the Cat Café is to create a rich, interactive environment that empowers cat owners to learn more about their cat's health and nutritional needs,"Brian Williams, brand manager for Purina ONE, said in a news release.

The cat café is open from 10 a.m. till 7 p.m. for the next four days and is located at 168 Bowery New York, New York 10013.
