Comfort Dogs Return to Boston One Year After Bombings

By Amy Sinatra Ayres

The Lutheran Church Charities' Golden Retriever Comfort Dogs were there to help people after the Boston Marathon bombings in 2013. They returned several times during the year, and they have been in town to lend a paw for the first anniversary of the tragedy.

They spent Easter Sunday visiting the First Lutheran Church of Boston, which is near the finish line of the race. "Had I not had them, I'm not sure how I'd fare. This is just love in a golden body," said Aislynn Rodeghiero, who ran the marathon last year but couldn't finish because of the bombings. She visited with the dogs on Saturday, and will be running the race again today. - Read it at the Los Angeles Times
