A one-eyed kitten with a disfigured jaw has become an Internet sensation since he was rescued from the streets of Oregon.

Known as Sir Stuffington, the 6-week-old kitten arrived at Multnomah County Animal Services in Troutdale, Ore., on Sept. 13 along with his two brothers.

The shelter determined that the kitten's missing eye and jaw disfigurement were the result of an unknown injury, but in addition to those ailments, Sir Stuffington also had a heart murmur, upper respiratory infection, flea anemia and the highly contagious calicivirus.

After treating his severe flea infestation and giving him antibiotics, the shelter placed Sir Stuffington and his brothers with foster parent Blazer Scaffer.

Inspired by the tiny kitten's rescue story, Scaffer decided to share it with the world and created a Facebook page for Sir Stuffington.

She began posting photos and updates about his progress, but it wasn't until she posted a picture of him dressed as a pirate that his popularity really took off.

The unforgettable photo features Sir Stuffington in an eye patch and red bandana. His signature sneer perfects his pirate look. Since the picture made him Internet famous, his Facebook page has received more than 36,000 likes.

Although many people have expressed interest in adopting the kitten, it will likely be a couple of months until he's ready to find his forever home.

Once he's fully recovered and has put on some weight, the shelter plans to extract several of Sir Stuffington's teeth to alleviate any potential issues that could arise because of his jaw injury.

If you're interested in contributing to Sir Stuffington's recovery, you can purchase one of his pirate-themed prints. All proceeds will be donated to Multnomah County Animal Services.
