Kim Kardashian won't be appearing in this year's Skechers Super Bowl ad. But you know who will? An adorable puppy. Win!

Okay, so yes, I'm trying to cut back on how much I write about the Kardashians because we're all getting so unbelievably sick of them. This, though? This is too good to pass up, so here we go:

Kim Kardashian has been ousted from this year's Skechers Super Bowl ad… in favor of aFrench bulldog.

Who else is currently laughing their face off?

Kim, you'll recall, has spent some time endorsing Skechers Shape-Ups , those wacky rocker bottom shoes that claim to give your legs, etc. extra toning power as you walk; in fact, last year's Skechers Super Bowl ad featured Kim kinda-but-not-really having some sexytimes with a personal trainer, who she then kicked to the curb because of her supposedly awesome new shoes. In case you need a reminder, check it out here .

Shudder.

Anyway, according to USA Today, Skechers execs insist that their decision to drop Kim has nothing to do with the hullabaloo surrounding her divorce. "Kim got us more attention than we ever dreamed," Leonard Armato, president of Skechers Fitness, told the paper. Apparently, two months before the 2011 Super Bowl, Skechers' Facebook page had a measly 100,000 fans-but now it has 400,000, a feat with which Armato largely credits Kim. However, he also went on to say, "We have to establish Skechers as more than a lifestyle company"-hence the bulldog. No comment from Kim, of course.

The new ad will feature the little dog racing against a pack of greyhounds while wearing a pair of Skecher's new shoe of the moment, GOrun sneakers. This, of course, is giving the company trouble of a different sort; USA Today reported that animal rights group Grey2K USA is petitioning to ax the ad over mistreatment of the greyhounds, though Skechers is roundly denying the claims. Armato says the commercial doesn't glamorize dog racing, but rather, "It is simply a metaphor for a remarkable, underdog achievement."

So here's the question, Bettys: When it comes to the great world of advertising, would you rather spend 30 seconds looking at this?
