Winnie the Pooh Day

By Shayna Meliker

January 18th is Winnie the Pooh Day, so, naturally, we jumped at the opportunity to celebrate our favorite willy, nilly, silly old bear!

First, a little bit of history: The holiday falls on the birthday of A. A. Milne, a British author who wrote plays, novels and nonfiction - but was, of course, most notably known for his Winnie the Pooh books. He modeled the collections of stories off his son, Christopher Robin Milne, and the little boy's stuffed animals. A. A. Milne was born exactly 131 years ago tomorrow, in London.

We're definitely carving out some time tomorrow to take a journey back to the Hundred Acre Wood. In fact, we've already sent invites for our Pooh party to Christopher Robin, Eeyore, Rabbit, Piglet, Owl, Tigger, Kanga and little Roo too! If you'd like to join us, all you have to do is pull out your dusty old Pooh books, play that Kenny Loggins song you used to love and celebrate one of our favorite childhood characters!
