The surest way to go wrong adapting F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel is to treat it too reverently. So is this lavish production-also starring Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton, and Isla Fisher-which Warner Bros. hopes will have audiences roaring their pleasure with the Roaring Twenties.
