7 Tips to Avoid Temper Tantrums at a Theme Park

A ton of planning goes into a family trip to a theme park, whether you're flying to Disney World or driving to your nearest Six Flags. However, even the best laid plans won't provide any immunity against temper tantrums in the middle of the line, in 90% humidity and at the end of the day. It's enough to make anybody upset, even if you outgrew the terrible twos a long time ago.

So what's a parent to do? I am somewhat of a theme park veteran and in my family's many trips, I've learned quite a few lessons. The most important lesson is to avoid certain temper tantrum triggers, which tend to be the same regardless of the setting: hunger, tiredness, boredom, need for attention, and feeling uncomfortable. Keep that in mind, since it will help you have a more pleasant vacation.
