Amazing Movie Makeovers, from "The Devil Wears Prada" to "Mean Girls"

"The Devil Wears Prada" is one of the fashion crowd's favorite flicks, as it's allegedly based on Vogue editrix Anna Wintour and her assistant. The plot follows Andrea Sachs (Anne Hathaway) as a frumpy aspiring journalist who takes a job at Runway, a top fashion magazine. After coworker Nigel (Stanley Tucci) takes her under his wing, she emerges in epic designer duds from Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana-along with a new outlook on life.

It's worth noting that Hathaway also underwent a makeover in 2001's The Princess Diaries. Then, she went from luminous to emaciated for her role as Fantine in 2011's "Les Miserables."

Ever since Cinderella ditched those rags and threw on a ball gown and a pair of glass slippers, movie audiences have fallen for the beloved transformation storyline, so it's not a bit surprising that countless modern makeover films like "The Devil Wears Prada," "Mean Girls," and even bad girl drama "Thirteen" have been so successful. After all, who doesn't love seeing starlets likeAnne Hathaway and Lindsay Lohan go from drab to fab during the course of 90 minutes?
